Staged on the beach lawns along the seafront of the South West seaside town numerous military helicopters were present throughout the 4 days with civilian examples coming and going each day.
Although United Kingdom military participation was limited to a single Bell 412EP Griffon HT1 from RAF Shawbury and the Army Air Corps historic flight due to operational commitments around the World foreign participation was strong and varied for this well attended event.
The Italian Air Force provided two Augusta HH-3F’s one of which sported a commemorative “Pelican” scheme.
German Forces provided a Navy Westland Lynx MK 88A sporting “X-Men 3” nose art, Westland Sea Kind MK 41 and an Army UH-1.
The Belgian Air Force provided their Sea King RS-05 wearing anniversary colours and also crewed by their first female Sea King pilot.
Numerous civilian helicopter movements, a small flying display including the Red Arrows, Black Cats and Blue Eagles helicopter display teams and helicopter pleasure flights made for a thoroughly enjoyable event.
