In the late in 1950, Number 400 (City of Toronto) Squadron flew Mk.V   Sabre Jets out of RCAF Station Downsview. This weekend was going to a home coming of types with the arrival of VWoC Hawk 1 Sabre jet. But with an hundred hour inspection performed, there was a small mechanical problem kept her from coming to the Toronto Air and Space Museum. The museum itself is based out of the old paint shop of de Havilland operations.

In place of the Sabre, VWOC sent there P-51 and Corsair. Waiting on the ground for the Corsair was Canada’s only Corsair ace Mr. Don Sheppard. Paul Kissman and Tim Leslie made arrangements for Mr. Sheppard to try on a Corsair one more time.

If one needed the feel for speed, a private MiG15 two seater and a Delphin came. Along with these jets, a CF-18 Hornet out of Bagotville.

There were many private planes on display as well many of the aircraft from the museum.
