In its third year, the Classic Air Rallye has become the show in Canada to see the past close-up. Located at the Rockcliffe airport along the Ottawa River, the show shares the venue with the National Aviation Museum (NAM).

This years event included a Saturday only appearance of the Canadian SkyHawks and the first time ever appearance at any airshow of the Vintage Wings of Canada (VWoC) Corsair. Also making their first time appearance was a US Registered Australian Whirlaway - Australian version of a Texan/Harvard, from Moose Jaw the Harvard II and from Winnipeg the TCA (Air Canada) Lockheed 10. This Lockheed 10 is one of three remaining original models that were flown by Trans Canada Airways. The others can be found at a museum in New England and inside the NAM.

Through out the day planes from VWoC and Canadian Warplane Heritage and many of the visiting planes could be seen doing fly pasts.

If enjoying the history outside was not enough, one could cool off inside the museum and look at Canada’s flying history from a model of Graham Bell’s Silver Dart up to the CF-18 Hornet. The museum is being closed shortly after this event for a major renovation to celebrate the 100 Years of Flight in Canada in 2009.
