Terre Haute, Indiana was the site for the 2007 Air Fair starring so many top-flight performers it just isn't possible to name them all. So let's take a look at some of the more unique events that show director Dennis Dunbar brought to the skies over Terre Haute.

Many airshows choose one of the many performances that the X-Team has to offer, but the 2007 Air Fair went one step further. Every member of the X-Team (with the exception of Les Shockley) was present and performed either in a solo or team act. Some of the most stupendous moments during the entire weekend were related to the X-Team. A world record attempt by Rich & Dee Gibson and all the members of Rich's Incredible Pyro were on hand for a 6,600 foot long wall of fire. The wall of fire is one of Rich's signature events and on Sunday, September 16th, the wall of fire concluded a performance of Tinstix of Dynamite with Skip Stewart, Jurgis Kairys, and Kent Shockley.

While Skip Stewart captivates audiences without any problem, he took his act one level further at Terre Haute by performing with Motocross racer Cody Elkins in a spectacular demonstration. A set of motorcycle jump ramps was set across the runway at show center. At the perfect point in time while Skip was flying just inches above the runway, Elkins screamed up the ramp and was suspended in midair between the two ramps as Skip flew beneath. The response from the crowd was thunderous.

Jurgis Kairys is known worldwide for some of the most spectacular and stunning feats in an aircraft. Terre Haute was an easy continuation of his storied career. Joining his team at Terre Haute were Ausra Jasaite and Rugile Griciute. Originally from Jurgis’ homeland of Lithuania, these charming ladies added another dimension to Jurgis’ ability to captivate the crowd. While the autograph tent at show center is always a popular point during the airshow, it easily became very busy whenever Jurgis and the “Jurgis Girls” were there. It certainly brought a whole new level of attention to an already incredible performer.

Current military demos were impressive and represented by The US Air Force West Coast F-15 demo team with Capt Tony “Baron” Bierenkoven at the controls of the F-15C. The US Navy was represented by LT Thomas "Natty" Clark flying the F/A-18C Hornet. The 101st Airborne Division Parachute Demo Team performed, jumping from a UH-60 Blackhawk of the Indiana National Guard. The UH-60 also performed showing the versatility and maneuverability unique to the helicopter.

Aerobatic fans were treated to everything from wing walking to aerobatic performances by classic and cutting edge machines. A nighttime airshow punctuated the skies with fireworks while concerts featuring Joe Diffie and Aaron Tippin entertained thousands of music fans. Two 2 first timers at Terre Haute were Billy Werth in the Pitts Special and Pete McLeod in the Giles-200.

Consistently one of the finest airshows in the country with something for everyone to enjoy on the ground and in the sky, come and experience the Terre Haute Air Fair where the hospitality is incredibly warm and the entertainment never-ending.
