The Morris, Illinois Skyfest held annually on Labor Day weekend is an airshow that is quite unlike any other show. What is so different in this rural community southwest of Chicago, Illinois? The Morris airport is currently extending their runway to around 5,000 feet to accommodate larger jet aircraft better in this growing community. This also means that next year you can plan on seeing an even more exciting airshow.
Highlights from the 2007 Skyfest included an impressive display of flying and static warbirds including the B-17 Yankee Lady and the B-25 Yankee Warrior from the Yankee Air Museum. Several flights were made by Yankee Lady with a full load of warbird fans looking to enjoy the unique experience of a flight in a B-17.
Aerobatics by solo performers and Team Aerostars kept the eyes pointed skyward into the crystal clear blue skies over Morris.
