The Great Georgia Airshow in Peachtree City was the place to be on October 13 and 14. You could not have asked for better weather with the temperature in the mid 80’s, low humidity, and nothing but blue sky to set the back drop for the show. This show looked to have a record breaking crowd which I am sure pleased the director, Jerry Cobb. This year the U.S. Air Force chose Peachtree City to host one of its 60th anniversary celebrations with military displays and demos. The military line up included the Wings of Blue Parachute team and the F-16 Viper East Coast demo with the P-51 Crazy Horse Heritage Flight flown by Lee Lauderback. The Air Force also had their HH-60 Pave Hawk chopper demo, C-17 fly by, and B-2 fly by to round out their part of the show. |

The civilian show line-up, in no particular order, was Gary Ward, Ed Hamill, Red Eagle Team, Aeroshell Team, Greg Koontz with the Alabama Boys, and Charlie Kulp in his last year performing, and the always crowd favorite Super Shockwave jet truck. This show also had a Delta 757 Fly-by and a World Airways MD-11 fly-by just to switch things up from the norm. A big plus for the show is the Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing that is based right here at Falcon Field. We were delighted by the many warbirds they had like the P-51D Red Nose, C-45, T-6, SBD-5 Dauntless, Japanese Kate and many more. This show is in its 10th year and it just gets better and better. The layout of the field is the best I have ever seen with the ramps elevated a few feet above the runway for an unobstructed view from one end of the runway to the other. Thank you to all that put on the show this year, you guys outdid yourself!
